Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 October 2026 · applies to Kimbi

01Overview

Kimbi (package com.circleeggstudio.kimbi) is an Android keyboard with AI slash commands, made by CircleEgg Studio. A keyboard sees everything you type, so this policy explains exactly what stays on your phone and what leaves it.

The short version: your typing stays on your phone. Text only leaves when you run a slash command, and then it goes straight to the AI provider you chose. Kimbi shows no ads and has no analytics.

02What stays on your phone

  • What you type. Keys, suggestions and autocorrect are processed on your phone.
  • Learned words. Suggestions learn from your typing and are saved in Kimbi’s private storage. Kimbi never learns from password fields or from apps that ask for incognito typing. You can turn learning off and clear learned words in Settings.
  • Clipboard and screenshots. Text you copy is kept in Kimbi’s clipboard history on your phone. If you turn on screenshot suggestions and allow photo access, your latest screenshot is offered as a paste chip. Neither is uploaded.
  • Your API keys, encrypted with the Android Keystore (AES-256-GCM). The encryption key never leaves your phone’s secure hardware.
  • Commands, themes, background photos and usage stats (token counts per model, shown on the Home tab).

We have no copy of any of this. Uninstalling Kimbi, or clearing its data, deletes it.

03AI commands

When you run a slash command, Kimbi sends the text the command applies to, plus that command’s instruction, to the AI provider you set up for it, using your own API key. It goes directly from your phone to the provider. It does not pass through CircleEgg servers.

Supported providers include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Moonshot (Kimi), Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral, xAI, Alibaba Cloud (Qwen) and any custom address you enter. Kimbi also asks your provider for its list of models. Each provider handles your text under its own terms and privacy policy, so check how yours stores or uses API requests.

Nothing is sent while you just type. Only the command you trigger, only to the provider you picked.

04GIFs

GIF search is provided by KLIPY. When you open the GIF tab or search, Kimbi sends your search words, your language setting and a random ID that Kimbi created (not linked to your name, account or phone number) to KLIPY, which returns the results. KLIPY also sees your IP address.

05Voice typing

Voice typing uses your phone’s own speech recognition service (for example Google’s). The audio is handled by that service under its own policy. Kimbi does not record or keep audio, and only asks for the microphone when you use voice typing.

06Downloads

Extra language dictionaries are downloaded from Google Play, which sees the download like any other app update.

07App permissions

  • Internet: AI commands, model lists and GIFs.
  • Microphone: voice typing, only when you use it.
  • Photos: optional, for a custom keyboard background or screenshot suggestions.
  • Vibrate: key press feedback.

08Kimbi account (coming later)

We are building an optional Kimbi account and a built-in Kimbi AI, so you won’t need your own key. They are not live yet, and the price is not set. Before they launch, this policy will be updated with the details. The plan is:

  • If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to create your account, show who is signed in, and manage your credits or subscription.
  • Kimbi’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We will never sell it, use it for ads, or use it to train AI models.
  • You will be able to delete your account, and everything tied to it, from the app or from this website.

09Children

Kimbi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and big changes are mentioned in the app’s release notes.
