01Overview
VDT – Video Downloader Tik (package com.videodownloadertikk.app) is made by CircleEgg Studio (formerly NEBU). It has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and we run no server for it. This policy replaces the earlier version from February 2026.
02What stays on your phone
- The history of what you saved, and the links you pasted.
- Your settings: language, theme, floating Tupi.
- Tupi’s energy for the day, and whether a food pack is running.
- A small counter used to ask for a rating once.
- A random install ID that VDT creates, used only to match purchases to this install.
All of it lives in VDT’s private storage. We can’t see it, and uninstalling VDT or clearing its data deletes it. Saved videos, photos and MP3s are in your gallery and stay there until you delete them.
03Links and the TikWM service
To fetch a post, VDT sends the link you pasted to the TikWM API, a third-party service, which returns the video, photo and sound files. Your phone then downloads them. TikWM receives the link and your IP address as part of the request. If a creator’s profile picture is missing, the player may show a placeholder from ui-avatars.com, which receives that creator’s display name.
04Clipboard
When you open VDT, tap Paste or tap floating Tupi, VDT reads your clipboard to pick up a copied link. Only links are used, and the clipboard is never sent anywhere except the link itself, as described above.
05Purchases
Food packs and tips are bought through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment, so we never see your card or payment details. Google tells VDT whether a purchase is active, and VDT attaches its random install ID to purchases so a pack can be matched to your install. Google shares basic order details with us (order number, product, price, country) so we can handle refunds and support. Google’s privacy policy applies to the payment.
06App permissions
- Internet and network state: fetch posts and download them.
- Photos, videos and music: save what you download to your gallery. On newer Android versions VDT only asks to add files, not to read your gallery.
- Display over other apps: floating Tupi, only after you turn it on.
- Foreground service, notifications and wake lock: keep floating Tupi running and finish a save in the background. Android shows a notification while it runs.
- Billing: food packs and tips through Google Play.
- Vibrate: tap feedback.
07Ratings
After a few saves, VDT may show Google Play’s rating dialog once. Your rating goes to Google Play, not to us.
08Children
VDT is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
09Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and big changes are mentioned in the app’s release notes.
